A new “Free Expression Blog About Monaco” has popped up on the World Wide Web.
It could never have happened while Prince Rainier III ruled the principality. Heads would have rolled.
But with yesterday’s announcement that Monaco has been added to the FATF money-laundering “Grey List,” Albert’s reign is weaker than ever.
The Pepper of Monaco’s Mission Statement:
There is no power without satire. Under the guise of sometimes corrosive humor and a dose of bad mood, our articles tell embarrassing truths, in order to bring down the masks in Monaco, which has become an operetta theater and a banana Principality. Our contributors are Monegasque and French citizens of the riviera who know well the other side of the "bling-bling and glamorous" snail decor. They write under a nickname to protect themselves against intimidation, blackmail, twisted blows and threats.
You will not find in our columns ad-reports on the F1 Grand Prix, the Monaco Yacht Show, charitable events organized by billionaires, extended interviews with Prince Albert on the oceans, or on the Rose Ball.
Instead: real estate corruption, state lies, influence trafficking and mafia networks that are unfortunately an integral part of the hidden side of the Principality.
The Pepper of Monaco is intended to bring them to the knowledge of all, so that Monaco may one day become a virtuous State. This is also what the Prince initially wanted in his advent speech. We can dream! In the meantime, read and share the Monaco Pepper!!
