Question: Where are you from?
Ammonia and nitrogen hydrogen in a heated pool of water spontaneously sparked by lightning leading to eruption.
Question: Where are you going?
Answer: Following my bliss. Also: Spinning 1,000 miles an hour while circling the sun at 67,000 miles an hour.
Beyond that, the same destination as everyone else. It’s the journey that counts.
Said Indian guru Sri Nisargadatta, “Once you realize that the road is the goal, you are always on the road, not to reach a goal, but to enjoy its beauty and wisdom.”
Question: Are we there yet?
Answer: We are always where we’re supposed to be.
Question: Are you busy?
Answer: Not if I can help it. To quote Michel de Montaigne, a 16th century philosopher, I am extremely idle and extremely independent both by nature and by intention.
Question: What’s new?
Answer: Everything. Because, like a waterfall or a flowing river, each new moment is transitory and reveals impermanence.
