Perhaps the most perfectly balanced cocktail ever conceived
One part gin (in this case, The Botanist), one part Campari, one part sweet vermouth (preferably Antica).
Never free-poured, always measured (to ensure bitter/sweet equilibrium).
Stirred, not shaken.
Traditionally served over one large rock in a bucket glass; much better up.
Particularly pleasant on a cloudy evening when a genuine sunset is unavailable (rare in Montecito).
Happy Labor Day—Cheers!
Coincidentally, the Negroni has become my go-to Oxfordshire sunset tipple this summer... 😌
