Question: Why?
Answer: On his deathbed, the father of psychedelics and visionary Timothy Leary repeatedly posed these words: Why? Why not? Why? Why not…? until uttering his very last word: Beautiful. Which recalls the final words of Apple founder and visionary Steve Jobs: Oh wow oh wow oh wow.
But in the context of this Q & A, Why?
Because (wrote Ralph Waldo Emerson), to the illuminated mind the whole world burns and sparkles with light.
Question: What does it all mean?
Answer: Love yourself—and thereafter spread your love to others.
Question: Why do you write? (Substitute “write” for whatever activity that gives your life purpose, whether it be mountain climbing, scuba diving, skiing, marathons, sculpting, painting, teaching, etc.)
Answer: It is about yielding your self-importance to a divine experience much greater than yourself; surrendering your ego to the cosmos and experiencing timelessness from total focus.
More important physiologically, you subconsciously do this to activate the serotonin system (serotonin, dopamine, endorphins, oxytocin) and, even better, prod your pineal gland (the body’s “third eye” and “spirit molecule”) into releasing Dimethyltryptamine (DMT), which produces something we all crave: A state of ecstasy (in addition to out-of-body experiences, channeling, mystical visions and seeing elves or angels).
Antoine de Saint-Exupery wrote: True freedom lies only in the creative process. The fisherman is free when he fishes. The sculptor is free when carving a face.
Question: Tangentially, how can I activate my serotonin system for a natural high?
Eat salmon, bananas, spinach, berries, almonds, walnuts and dark chocolate—and drink coffee (in moderation).
Avoid fluoride in water, toothpaste and mouthwash; it calcifies the pineal gland.
Walk in the sunshine, stretch, breathe deeply, absorb negative ions (walk after it rains, sit near fountains, ocean waves and bodies of flowing water); laugh, cry, listen to soothing music, pet dogs, feed birds, hug people, give presents (and presence), travel by train, phone friends, have meals with them, tell your loved ones you love them—and don’t check the time.
Tear therapy (a healing method the Japanese call rui-katsu) releases toxic stress hormones and creates endorphins (endogenous opioids). Which means the easiest, quickest way to feel a natural high is a good cry.
Question: What do you expect?
Answer: Nothing more than whatever happens next.
Question: What do you expect from me?
Answer: Even less.
Question: May I help you?
Answer: You are kind to ask but I need no help.
Question: What do you want from me?
Answer: Nothing other than for you to live the best life you can.
