If you are an American visiting the UK, you might want to purchase these two items over the counter from a local pharmacy for your medicine cabinet back home.
The reason for this is because our fatuous (and probably corrupt) Federal Drug Administration does not allow codeine to be sold over the counter (we citizens cannot be trusted to medicate ourselves) and, for some inane reason, paracetamol is banned entirely.
Such restrictions are probably the beavering of Big Pharma, which desires to control what you can buy without a doctor’s prescription while exacting the high cost you pay for their (often useless) “remedies.”
Your elected representatives inside the Beltway Bog (on both sides of the aisle) are slaves to Big Pharma’s overpaid and junket-providing lobbyists.
I’ve never taken a flu jab and never will (it’s just a guessing game as to which flu—of numerous types and strains—is coming any given year, plus the side effects can be worse than flu). These products will suffice unless, as with Covid, you have underlying health issues.
Note: A subscriber informs me that acetaminophen, which is found in Tylenol and Panadol, has the same chemical composition as paracetamol. Just goes to show I still have much to learn…
